Before you start.... Web designing could be a very interesting project but, at the same time you may stumble across a few things and find a few questions without the answers. You may find several types: -simple text editors like Notepad or Wordpad. These two won't help you write the html code but at the same time using it would be the best way to learn because you have to do it yourself. -Friendlier editor is Allaire Homesite 4.0 Allaire will make your life easier and many programmers used it in the real world. You may get this one for free if you go to Allaire web site. -And finally WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editors. Using these editors, you don't have to know much about html because you work in the graphic mode and the editor will write the code for you. Although these are excellent for beginners, they are known to write a "bad code". The two most famous editors from this group are Front Page Express (comes with IE 4.0) and Netscape Composer (comes with Netscape browser). If you are still not happy and need more powerful tools, try Dreamweaver or Frontpage 2000. At the end when you select the tools, you need to get your hands dirty and go to work now.
